Shirokuma publishes NDB Pipe Organ Samples for GigaStudio
By far the most authentic organ sample collection, say experts

Budapest, Hungary, November 17, 2003 — Shirokuma Ltd. announced today that Notre Dame de Budapest Pipe Organ Samples (NDB), the ultimate pipe organ sampling collection designed for Tascam’s market-leading PC sampling software GigaStudio is commercially available from today.

While the library was originally designed for the forthcoming version of GigaStudio (v3.0), Shirokuma gave heed to the calls of the enthusiasts and decided to publish a version of the library for the currently shipping GigaStudio v2.

“We are in no doubt that NDB is the best organ sample currently available and we do hope there is demand for excellence,” said Szabolcs Varga, managing director of Shirokuma. “The combination of two excellent organs, equipment of the highest quality and countless hours of dedicated work resulted in something that has not existed before.”

Organists and organ experts are also enthusiastic about the new library. While electronic music can never truly reproduce the majesty of a grand symphonic organ in a church like The Church of the Blessed Virgin (Mátyás Church) in Budapest, the authors of the library have come really close this time: organ artists could complain only about the ‘mechanics’ of the samples, not the sound.

“I am particularly proud of capturing those little details that make an organ sound truly authentic,” said Csaba Huszty, NDB architect and lead engineer. “Besides the swellbox, crescendo and tremolo effects that are first of their kind among organ samples, organ enthuiasts will appreciate that we recorded even the sound of the organ engine and the sound of registration.”
